We are seeking students to help shape and produce St. Ambrose University’s creative-arts journal, Quercus, by collaborating with the student Team Leads and Faculty Advisors to create a thoughtful, engaging publication that represents the campus community.

Editorial Team

​

The Editorial Team is composed of student volunteers who assist Team Leads with the review, selection, and promotion process for each issue. This is a wonderful opportunity for professional development and social networking! Flexible opportunities for involvement.

Quercus Team Leads

​

The Quercus Faculty Advisors will appoint two (2) students per semester to serve as Team Leads: one for editorial work, and one for web design and marketing.

Team Lead – Editorial

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate submissions of creative writing and visual art.

• Coordinate editorial meetings and contribute constructive feedback on submissions.

• Work collaboratively with the Editorial Team and Faculty Advisors to select and curate content for publication.

• Assist with thoughtful editing and proofreading while preserving each contributor’s unique voice and style.

• Communicate with contributors regarding publication decisions.

• Assist with maintaining editorial records.

• Collaborate with the Editorial Team, Team Lead – Web Design and Marketing, and Faculty Advisors on the layout and presentation of the journal.

• Help promote Quercus and encourage participation from students across campus.

Team Lead – Web & Marketing Design

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate submissions of visual art.

• Coordinate visual art jurying meetings and contribute constructive feedback on submissions.

• Work collaboratively with the Editorial Team and Faculty Advisors to select and curate content for publication.

• Communicate with contributors regarding publication decisions.

• Create print material and social media graphics to promote Quercus and encourage participation from students across campus.

• Organize, import, and design website content, including writings and image galleries.

• Collaborate with the Editorial Team, Team Lead – Editor, and Faculty Advisors on the layout and presentation of the journal.
